Dairy Goats
At Thyme & Timber Homestead, we are building a lovely herd of quality ADGA and AGS registered Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats.
Excellent stewardship and animal husbandry are at the heart of our homestead and we consider it a blessing to be caretakers of this little acreage in SW Missouri and all of our animals. We are very hands-on with our herd which means we take time daily to bond and learn the ins and outs of our goats individually.
With that experience, we can focus on breeding for quality milk lines, mothering skills, ease of hand milking, parasite resistance, and excellent conformation. All important traits for an ideal homestead and performance dairy animal!
Meet Our Herd
Herd Health
We use holistic management with our herd. Our herd is disease free with our most recent negative tests for CAE and Johne’s done in February 2024.
We only purchase goats from disease-free herds. All new animals are quarantined for a short period of time to observe for illness and parasite before being introduced to the existing herd.
Herd Protection
We consider our livestock guardians partners in the care and protection of our goat herd. Our health tested, working AKC Great Pyrenees have been bonded with their goats since they were young pups and their attentiveness to their charges is fierce.
